Galaxies near the Plough Empty Galaxies near the Plough

Well, lets kick this one off.  LaDonna, Paul and myself had a session out and managed to observe and image M81 and M82 near the Plough.  M82, the Cigar Galaxy, contains a recently discovered supernova which is visible in this image.

There are seven Messier galaxies, and numerous others, around the Plough which is well placed for observing at this time of year.
